• Frontend-facing source files (e.g., .tsx, .js)
• Translatable strings from source code
• Contextual information, such as file paths, surrounding lines of code, or stack traces

This data is associated with the GitHub repository ID and the user who authorized access. We do not store repository metadata (e.g., contributors, commit history).

1.2 Chat Translation System

When you use our chat translation system, we receive and store:

• User-submitted messages (e.g., team communication, customer service chats)
• Metadata such as internal user IDs, timestamps, and chat room IDs (provided by your system)

Messages may contain personally identifiable information (PII) depending on what is submitted, though we do not collect names, emails, or other direct identifiers.

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 Data Usage

We use collected data to:

• Extract, process, and improve translations
• Enhance translation accuracy through contextual understanding
• Avoid redundant translations by retaining previously translated strings/messages
• Support analytics and debugging

2.2 Third-Party AI Services

We use the following third-party AI services to process translations:

• Anthropic and DeepSeek - Used for context-aware translations and complex language processing
• DeepL - Specialized translation service for high-accuracy technical content

When you submit content for translation through our platform, your text and necessary contextual information are transmitted to these AI providers to generate accurate translations. Only the content necessary for translation is shared, and transmission occurs via secure, encrypted connections.

These third-party services process your data as it passes through their systems but do not permanently store your content for purposes beyond improving translation quality. Our agreements with these providers include data protection terms aligned with our privacy commitments.

3. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain translation and chat data as long as your account is active and the relevant integration (GitHub or Chat) remains connected. You may delete this data by:

• Deleting your account
• Disconnecting your GitHub repository
• Disabling the Chat feature
• Emailing us at founders@getquetzal.com

4. Data Security

We take data security seriously:

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS
• Stored data is kept in a secure Google Cloud Postgres database, encrypted at rest
• Only approved Quetzal employees assigned to specific accounts have access to your data
• We conduct access logging and audits to ensure security

5. Analytics and Cookies

We use PostHog to collect behavioral analytics about visitors to our website. This helps us understand and improve user experience. You may opt out of analytics collection at any time.

6. User Rights

We are working toward full compliance with GDPR and CCPA. In the meantime, we support key user rights, including the ability to:

• Request a copy of your data
• Correct inaccurate or outdated information
• Delete your data without deleting your account
• Opt out of certain data processing, including analytics
